Business Immigration

For business people who plan to stay in Canada for an extended period of time, the government offers the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) and the International Mobility Program (IMP). The TFWP allows Canadian employers to hire foreign workers to fill temporary skill shortages, while the IMP allows foreign nationals to work in Canada without the need for a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) if they meet certain criteria.

Business people who wish to immigrate to Canada permanently can apply for the Business Immigration Program. This program is designed to attract experienced business people who can contribute to the Canadian economy by investing in or managing businesses in Canada. The program is divided into three categories: the Start-Up Visa Program, the Self-Employed Persons Program, and the Immigrant Investor Venture Capital (IIVC) Pilot Program. Each program has its own eligibility criteria and application requirements.
