Student Direct Stream (SDS)
The Student Direct Stream (SDS) is a program offered by the Canadian government that allows students from certain countries to expedite their study permit application process. The SDS program is designed to help international students who want to study in Canada by streamlining the application process, reducing processing times, and ensuring that students have the necessary language skills to succeed academically in Canada.
To be eligible for the SDS program, students must:

Be a legal resident of one of the following countries: China, India, Morocco, Pakistan, the Philippines, Senegal, or Vietnam.

Have an acceptance letter from a post-secondary Designated Learning Institution (DLI) in Canada.

Pay the first-year tuition fees upfront.

Have a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) of $20,600 CAD or more to cover living expenses in Canada.

Provide evidence of language proficiency in either English or French by taking a designated language test.
If students meet these requirements and provide all necessary documentation, they may be able to obtain their study permit in as little as 20 calendar days.
